Life of Pi

Life of Pi

I recently finished reading the book. A discovered the joy of audio books a few years ago.

I bought this from Audible. And I’m glad I got this specific recording. The story is about an Indian boy and the book is read, I guess, by an Indian. The accent of the boy is so real and sometimes hillarious.

It’s one of the best books I’ve ever read. I would like go home when I know rush hour is at its worst – just to have more time to listen to it.

It is funny, serious, sad, intense, moving, entertaining all at once. I recommend it to anyone who knows me.

[spoiler]

The book is about an Indian boy in India. His father has a zoo and he knows everything about the animals and animal behaviour. He discovers the joy of religion. All of them. At some point his father decides to emigrate to Canada. On the way there the ship sinks and he gets stuck with a few animals on a lifeboat. He uses his knowledge of animals to help him survive more than 200 days with a tiger (called Richard Parker) on board.

Ek sal so bietjie laat weet as ek klaar gelees het.

Is die Audible weergawe verkort gewees? Hoe lank was dit?

  2. Ek het die unabridged version gekoop. Dit is ongeveer 11-12 ure. Maar die moeite werd.
